Basic math glossary-N define words beginning with the letter N

n: A letter than can be used to stand for an unknown number.

Natural numbers: The number 1 and any other number obtained by adding 1 repeatedly.

Negative exponent: An exponent that is less than 0.

Negative integer: A whole number less than 0.

Negative number: A number that is less than 0.

nth root of a number: A number multiplied by itself n times to get the number.

Number line: A line whose points are real numbers

Numerator:The number above the fraction bar.

Numeral: Related to numbers.
