Solve the equation for x

(x+13)/y = 9

Multiply both sides of the equation by y

y×(x + 13)/y = 9 × y


x + 13 = 9y

Minus 13 from both sides of the equation

x + 13 - 13 = 9y - 13

x + 0 = 9y - 13

x = 9y - 13
