If a number is added to the numerator of 11/64 and twice the number is added to the denominator of 11/64, the resulting fraction is equivalent to 1/5. Find the number.

Let x be the number

We get 11 + x / 64 + 2x = 1 / 5

Cross multiply

We get:

5 (11 + x) = 64 + 2x

55 + 5x = 64 + 2x

5x - 2x = 64 - 55

3x = 9

x = 3
