Subtracting integers calculator

This subtracting integers calculator will help you to sharpen your skills of subtracting integers.
Note: Use it much until you have mastered the skill

the followings rules should be remembered as you practice:

Subtracting is the same thing as adding the negative.

So, whenever you subtract, rewrite the subtraction sign as + -

Then, all the the rules below still apply when performing operations.

Positive + Positive = Positive

Negative + Negative = Negative

The sign for Positive + Negative or Negative + Positive depends on which number is bigger.

Always subtract and keep the sign of the higher number!

For example,

- 9 − 4 = -9 + -4 = -13 but

-5 − - 2 = -5 + -- 2 = -5 + +2 = -3 (2 negatives = a positive)

Practice makes perfect and enjoy the calculator!
