Bryan works in a men's clothing store. He earns a base salary of $350 per week plus his commission is 5% on all sales. If Bryan's sales in one week total is $4000, what will his gross earnings be for that week?

Bryan's gross earnings = base salary + commission of 5% on all sales.

Bryan's gross earnings = 350 + 5% of 4000.

Bryan's gross earnings = 350 + 5% × 4000.

Bryan's gross earnings = 350 + 5/100 × 4000.

Bryan's gross earnings = 350 + 5/100 × 4000/1

Bryan's gross earnings = 350 + (5 × 4000)/(100 × 1)

Bryan's gross earnings = 350 + 20000/100

Bryan's gross earnings = 350 + 200

Bryan's gross earnings = 550
